Hotel Receptionist (New opportunity – 2022)

Job type: Part Time

Rate of pay dependent upon experience

We are advertising to recruit a full time, professional receptionist with hotel background to work within our experienced team. The role expects the applicant to have great interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly nature to interact well with our customers and the staff. Flexibility of working on the early, late, weekends and bank holidays shifts is a must.

The ideal candidate would have a smart and business outlook, computer literate, preferably familiar with one of the main hotel database systems such as Rezlynx or Opera.

Duties include face to face costumer service as well as over the phone and e-mails, staying communicated with other departments and keeping them updated with the latest changes of daily business, making individual and group bedrooms bookings and restaurant reservations, checking in and out, helping and liaising with the private dining and banqueting department.

Receptionist Job Duties

  • welcome and greet guests
  • answer and direct incoming calls
  • inform guests of hotel rates and services
  • make and confirm reservations for guests
  • ensure proper room allocation
  • register and check guests in
  • confirm relevant guest information
  • issue room keys and direct guests to their rooms
  • compute all guest billings, accurately post charges to guest rooms and house accounts
  • complete and maintain any incident reports, daily activity reports or other reports requested by management
  • manage conference room bookings and scheduling
  • process accurate payment of guest accounts
  • inform housekeeping when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
  • maintain a neat and orderly front desk and reception area

Chef de Partie (New opportunity – 2022)

Chef de Partie Job Purpose

As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for food preparation. Your primary duties include preparing food before meal service begins, setting up and stocking kitchen stations, and plating cooked foods. 

 Chef de Partie Job Duties

  • Setting up the kitchen prior to a restaurant’s opening
  • Cooking a specific portion of each plated meal
  • Assisting with marinating, cutting and precooking foods
  • Cleaning the kitchen at the end of each service
  • Cleaning and sanitising their area with warm water and soap
  • Wrapping unused items and storing them in correct storage areas at the end of a shift
  • Plating food creatively and maximising customer satisfaction
  • To follow food safety, health and safety and food allergen rules

Chef de Partie Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Pastry Chef (New opportunity – 2022)

Pastry Chef Job Purpose and Duties

As Pastry Chef you will work with the existing ‘Pastry Team’ responsible for every aspect of baking and food preparation, which includes:

  • Stocking checking and ordering of ingredients
  • Weighing and measuring ingredients
  • Decorating pastries and all other desserts using a variety of different sauces, toppings and other decoration items
  • Contributing new ideas to the menu
  • Keeping accurate food and temperature records 
  • Operating a variety of commercial kitchen equipment 
  • Maintaining a clean and professional, hygienic work environment

Pastry Chef skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven skill in baking, pastry preparation and decoration, with experience of working as a Pastry Chef in a commercial kitchen 
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety and food safety procedures for kitchens and food preparation areas
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously, but also with a team
  • A food hygiene certificate or any food handling or preparation qualification. NVQ Level 1,2,3.

Sous Chef (New opportunity – 2022)

Sous Chef Job Purpose

Works alongside Head Chef, the Sous Chef will help to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Provide excellent food quality and consistency by following designated recipes.

Sous Chef Job Duties

  • Leads kitchen team in chef’s absence
  • Ensures that the kitchen team maintain high food hygiene standards including allergen awareness
  • Provides guidance to junior kitchen team members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
  • Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
  • Hires and trains new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
  • Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records, ensures minimal waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
  • Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure highest quality and restaurant standards
  • Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, staffing levels and training opportunities
  • Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
  • Assists head chef with menu compilation and dish creation
  • Coordinates with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing

Waiters/waitresses (New opportunity – 2022)

Waitress/ Waiter Job Purpose

You will be required to meet and greet customers and offer restaurant menus, answers questions about menu offerings, process food and drink orders, carry food and drinks from the kitchen to tables and prepare bills and process payments.

Waitress/ Waiter Job Duties

  • Welcome customers when they arrive at the hotel, restaurant 
  • Introduce customers to the menu and outline daily or seasonal menu specials
  • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, food allergens and pricing
  • Take customers’ orders for food and drink by writing them on an order notepad
  • Pass customer orders to kitchen staff for preparation
  • Prepare drinks and serve them to customers
  • Collect food orders from the kitchen, verify that they are correct, and serve them to customers
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied with their meals, and processes orders for additional courses if necessary
  • Remove used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables
  • Prepare the bill and processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers as required
  • Set tables with dishes, glasses, and flatware in preparation for the next customers
  • Maintain familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
  • Meet with General Manager and waiter staff regularly, in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs/dietary requirements

Previous experience of undertaking these duties in a hotel/restaurant environment is essential.

Waitress/ Waiter Skills and Qualifications

No formal education required, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work under pressure, written and verbal communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, team player, familiarity with alcohol restrictions/laws.
